LYRICS

Daichi wo fumishimete kimi wa mezamete yuku
Tenshi no hohoemi de tsuredashite!
Step firmly to the land, it's time for you to arise
Go out with that angelic smile!

Kodoku demo hitori janai sa umaretekita koto ni kanarazu imi ga aru
Yasashisa ni michi afureteru aoi hoshi ni arigatou
Even in solitude, you are not alone, there's definitely a reason for us to be born
Brim over the road in gentleness, give thanks to the blue star

YOU CAN SMILE AGAIN taiyou abite
YOU CAN FLY AGAIN sekai wa kimi no kagayaki wo matteru
You can smile again, basked by the sun
You can fly again, cause the world is waiting for your shine

Daichi wo fumishimete kimi wa mezamete yuku
Tenshi no hohoemi de tsuredashite! (YOU CAN SMILE!)
"hajimari" wa itsu demo osokunai sa
Nando demo tachiagare!
Step firmly to the land, it's time for you to arise
Go out with that angelic smile! (You can smile!)
Cause a "start" will never be too late
No matter what happens, stand up!

Saigo made akiramenai sa yari tsuzukeru koto ni kanarazu imi ga aru
Don't ever give up till you reach the finish, there's definitely a reason if you continue to fail

YOU JUST TRY AGAIN yami wo nukete
YOU JUST GO AWAY mirai wa itsumo bokutachi wo matteru
You just try again, clear away the darkness
You just go away, the future is always waiting for us

Oozora kakenukete unabara koete yuke
Tenshi no nage KISSU tsukamaete! (YOU CAN TRY!)
Mada dare mo mita koto nai sekai e
Tobidasou ashita
Dash through the sky, cross over the deep sea
Seize that blowing Angelic kiss! (You can try!)
To a place that noone had ever seen before
 Soar high! for tomorrow

Daichi wo fumishimete kimi wa mezamete yuku
Tenshi no hohoemi de tsuredashite! (YOU CAN SMILE!)
Owaranai bouken ni dekakeyou
Itsu made mo doko made mo...
Step firmly to the land, it's time for you to arise
Go out with that angelic smile! (You can smile!)
 Depart for the endless journey
 Anywhere, no matter what...

Nagare ochiru namida yuuki ni kaete yuku
Tenshi no hane hiroge maiagare! (YOU CAN FLY!)
Kanashimi mo itami mo tsutsumikonde
Tsuyoku nare ashita...
Head and turn those falling tears into courage
Spread your angelic wings, and fly high!
Wrap up all sadness and pain
 For a stronger tomorrow...

Daichi wo fumishimete kimi wa mezamete yuku
Tenshi no hohoemi de tsuredashite! (YOU CAN SMILE!)
"hajimari" wa itsu demo osokunai sa
Nando demo! ( YOU CAN TRY!)
Nando demo! ( YOU CAN TRY!)
Nando demo tachiagare!
Step firmly to the land, it's time for you to arise
Go out with that angelic smile! (You can smile!)
Cause a "start" will never be too late
No matter what happens! (You can try!)
No matter what happens! (You can try!)
No matter what happens, stand up!

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Yeah, a new video means I'm back with internet. Do I change provider eventually? Nope, I stayed with my previous one, with a small hope that it has improved... and I can honestly say I've already regretted the decision already. Why? I can barely load a site in one shot, and had to refresh several time to get it running. Plus the streaming/download is lagging, WORST than before, and I can only rely on torrent that can still continue to run even when the connection is down for temporary. At least I can now see videos and all, but I'm going to put it on a test run for the next month...

I really appreciate Youtube's feature that enable the upload to automatically pause and continue, eventhough you've lost a connection at some point. This has been a tremendous help and made me able to upload in December and January, eventhough it is still frustrating because the upload time can span more than another hours. With that problem, I've decided to cut-back on the video quality, thus you'd probably see less images or animations in my new videos. Reason? Smaller size, means less time to upload. So eventhough it will still required a generous amount of my patience to wait for the upload to finish, at least it won't be much irritating compared to a huge size *cough-WVE-Project*cough*Debut*cough* video that could take more than 5 hours to get it done.

On to the song...! hahaha.
February is the SHOUNEN ANIME SONG month! ...and the first song will come from the October 2011 remake of Gon Freecss, Kurapict, Killua & Leorio's adventure! Yes, the MADHOUSE remake of HUNTER X HUNTER, with completely new animations and a whole new younger voice casts. Did you know that the original Gon was voiced by Junko Takeuchi a.k.a. Naruto Uzumaki's voice actress? Perhaps one of the reason they had to change the cast. This is one of the shounen anime that I've been following lately, which had to stop temporary due to internet. I still managed to get the latest episode or two from a reliable source though. In fact, as I'm writing this, I'm currently downloading episode 18... XD

Though I'm still wondering why they had to go and make a remake when the original anime series was quite well done, I do enjoy it cause it's a faster pace anime, and somehow has a brighter vibe compared to the darker original. It gets kinda draggy as it reached the 3rd hunter exam though, and I'm starting to get bored (as in the case of plenty other Shounen Anime), so I sure hope I'd be able to finish this one. The manga was written by Yoshihiro Togashi a.k.a. Mr. Sailor Moon.... haha I'm kidding, but yes, he later became the husband to Naoko Takeuchi, the author of Sailor Moon. It's a fun manga, which like many other shounen-type, spanned for such long period and many arcs. I was still in school when I first read the manga and watch the dub of the original anime. I even had recorded my version of the 1st ending song, a personal favorite, a classic in the late 90s: "Kaze no Uta" (by the late Minako Honda who passed away in 2005) back in 2006, as one of my first covers.

The song "departure!" is the opening theme for this new anime remake. It's a power, yes an UPLIFTING song that reflected Gon's (and the others) personal emotion with his long journey to become and eventually living his way as a hunter to find his missing Dad. "departure!" speaks about starting something new, and go all out to achieve your dream. It's speaking that life is a journey, that you need to take off to. A very fitting song for the start of a new year right? YES... cause it was intentionally planned to go up on January, but got postponed due to the internet. The lyrics might sound simple, about going on a journey, but more than that... it's about always staying strong, and not be afraid to start over when you're down. A very VERY powerful, and uplifting lyrics, especially for me personally, cause it felt like speaking about my own experience. One of the biggest plus for this song!

As much as I enjoy the song though, nothing beats the opening to the original anime, "Ohayou" which sounded and felt much more nostalgic for me personally. The latter also has a more gentle and easygoing feel, compared to "departure!" that sound very rock-ish, and... LOUD XD. Indeed, the music has a very strong power in it, that almost blasted my microphone away. Almost all shounen anime had the same typical musical type though, so expect more of this type of songs for the month.
Have I mentioned that the music is loud? Have I already mentioned that loud music tend to drown my voice? Yes... I think I've said it lots of time on my previous posts. That's the biggest challenge for this song. The other main challenge was the tempo and somehow I kinda messed up with it, thus the result is not as satisfactory as I hoped it would have been. I'm not sure why my recorded voice didn't match the tempo though, perhaps there's a delay during the recording? I got the choruses part right, but not the verses. Heck, I'm too tired and lazy to record it all over again, so I'm all right with this result. It does sound enjoyable, and I managed to boost my vocal volume with the sound editing and all. Oh, and when I recorded this, I used my lower tone instead of my high tones/head voice, cause the range is too high, and I was really surprised that it wasn't even too low for me O_o

So, not a bad result, but definitely below the standard of my expectance, or some of my other works. Well, it makes a good start for the new theme though, so I hope you'll still enjoy it and like it. The message, a.k.a. lyrics is the most awesome part, and the main reason why I'm doing this song, so I hope it will reach out to you as well, and boost your spirit to the max and remind you that life is a journey with all its ups and downs. Head out for the journey of your life, stand up and seize your own tomorrow! DEPART!

Till then, have a nice day!
